Problems installing RS 2005
-RS 2005
-SQL Server 2000
The installation completes successfuly in c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL
Server\MSSQL.1\Reporting Services\
LogFiles in c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\Reporting
Services\LogFiles do not have any errors..
But when i visit http://localhost/ReportServer I get a blank page that looks
like this:
localhost/ReportServer -

Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Version 9.00.1399.00
Any ideas'
I tried re-installing several times...There are two websites. One just shows folders and that website is
ReportServer. If you haven't deployed any reports you won't have any folders
created. The portal (Report Manager) is at the Reports website. Try
http://localhost/Reports

Problems In Connecting Using New Driver
http://blogs.msdn.com/dataaccess/ar...28/475032.aspx.
But I had problems in connecting to the database using it.
I used the following lines to make the connection.
Class.forName("com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver");
Connection con1 =
DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:sqlserver://localhost;databaseName=BCTEST"
,
"fiorano", "fiorano123");
I got the following error.

I even tried with the simpler URL "jdbc:sqlserver://localhost" but I got the
same error.
Please help.If I use Type1 driver like below its working fine.
java.lang.Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
Connection connection1 =
java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:DEV329;user=sa;password=ontr

But for the thin driver getteing the same exception..I need to upgrade

Problems activating a second Report server using rsactivate (Web f

The local NT Service is disabled 0x80090005
Environment -
The two RS Servers are both Windows 2003 Servers.
SQL Server is on a third computer: SQL 2000 Server Enterprise Edition.
RS Node1: Works fine.
RS Node 2: Activation fails.
ReportServer service login account for both nodes: "NT
Authority\NetworkService"
SQL Server access - using a "sql admin" account.
IIS (W3Svc) on both RS nodes - "LocalSystemAccount".
Web Servers on both RS nodes are working fine and the ReportServer service
starts as well.To activate a web farm, you will need to run rsactivate -m <name of node 2>
from node 1.

Did the following -
1. rskeymgmt -d on the orignal RS Node 1.
2. Stopped W3Svs and RS Service on Node 2. (** important)
3. From Node1 ran: rsactivate -mNode2 -c "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL
Server\MSSQL\Reporting Services\ReportServer\RSReportServer.config"
4. Re-started W3Svc and RS Service on Node 2.
5. Deleted and re-deployed all my RDLs to RS Node 1 as the security
information for the Data sources & other stuff got clobbered by rskeymgmt -d
6. Both RS nodes 1 & 2 can access all reports.
7. SSL works fine as well - next need to upgrade both nodes to RS Service
pack 1 and work on an NLB cluster solution ...

Problem: mssql locks several records in a specific table, while no one is editing them
I have an Access application with linked tables via ODBC to MSSQL
server 2000.
Having a weird problem, probably something i've done while not being
aware of (kinda newbie).
the last 20 records (and growing)of a specific table are locked - cant
change them - ("another user is editing these records ... ").
I know for a fact that no one is editing records and yet no user can
edit these last records in the MDB - including the administrator -
while able to add new records.
Administrator able to edit records in the ADP (mssql server) where the
tables are stored.
Please help, the application is renedred inert .
Thanks for reading,
Oren.Hi
I can't say that I am an expert on access, but this sounds like the
recordset may need refreshing i.e someone has changed the record and access
knows the local copy is out of date.

thanks for replying.
There is no local and remote copy of the table, the table is only
stored in the sql server and linked to the access MDB.
Simple refresh wont do (tried it, via the access menubars).
have any more suggestions?
Thanks,
Oren,

Problem with update tables on linked Sybase server

Transferred smallint DEFAULT 0 NOT NULL,
CONSTRAINT PK1
PRIMARY KEY NONCLUSTERED (CUST_ID)
)
LOCK datarows
go
1. Doing like this
update BILLING_ASE12.billing.adm.TransClient
set [Transferred]=1
MsSQL returns:
OLE DB provider 'MSDASQL' reported an error.
[OLE/DB provider returned message: Query-based update failed because the row
to update could not be found.]
OLE DB error trace [OLE/DB Provider 'MSDASQL' IRowsetChange::SetData
returned 0x80004005: ].
2. Second atempt
update BILLING_ASE12.billing.adm.TransClient
set [Transferred]=1 where CUST_ID=7
MsSQL returns:
1 row affected
3. Final shoot - I wrote simpliest cursor that goes throw rows and sets
Transferred=1
Althogh MsSQL has returned:
Remote tables are not updatable. Updatable keyset-driven cursors on remote
tables require a transaction with the REPEATABLE_READ or SERIALIZABLE
isolation level spanning the cursor.
After that
select count(*) from BILLING_ASE12.billing.adm.TransClient = 300
select count(*) from BILLING_ASE12.billing.adm.TransClient where
Transferred=1 = 202 !!!!!!!
select count(*) from BILLING_ASE12.billing.adm.TransClient where
Transferred=0 = 48 !!!!!!!!
No comments from my side - simply do not understand what is going on
Any answers are appreciated

|||Surely I have access to this server
Otherwise I couldn't do
update no.2
(update BILLING_ASE12.billing.adm.TransClient
set [Transferred]=1 where CUST_ID=7)
that completed successfully
